Why do 50% of students lose their faith during college? ๐

Attending college in America carries a real danger that students will lose their faith. Anywhere from 52% to 70% of students who enter college as self-identified Christians leave with no faith. After four years, up to 59% of students on some campuses no longer identify as โborn again.โ Why do students who come from faith-filled homes struggle to maintain their faith after college? Reader, I believe it's because we fail to teach the whole person. Biblical faith isnโt just built on head knowledge, but on three equal pillars: the head, the heart, and the character.

Together, these three pillars make up what I call the Daniel Plan. Like a modern college student, young Daniel was taken into captivity for three years to be stripped of his beliefs and remade in the image of Babylonian culture. He not only kept his faith when tested, but thrived in the midst of persecution. How did his parents prepare him? I discuss this in my latest blog post.
