In my dusty west Texas town, Reader, we lose power every time the wind gets bad. It was out today for several hours. Since I couldn't use my computer, I started writing this email on my phone to pass the time. Power just came back on a few minutes ago, and when I drove by the grocery store (we only have one grocery in town), the parking lot was packed. I'm guessing it was mostly moms trying to figure out dinner at the last minute, as the store had been closed since this morning. Being without electricity (yet again) made me think about something. What did people do back in the day to pass the time? Before laptops, the internet, smartphones...devices in every hand, delivering entertainment at every hour of the day...even before the invention of radio and TV... How did they entertain themselves? Well, a lot of folks would have a jam session. Whoever could play an instrument would take it out and start strumming. Whoever could sing, would (and whoever couldn't, would still join in). From the front porch to the parlor, live music was an important part of people's lives. I think we need to bring that back. That's why I joined the 2025 Music & Art Homeschool Summit as a featured speaker. I believe restoring a foundation of music literacy starts with restoring the joy of making music together. Music isn't just a dry academic subject. It's a living, breathing art form available to anyone. If you haven't signed up for your FREE pass yet, do it as soon as you finish reading this email! Day 1 (Music Day) is half over, but there's still time to scoop up all those expert sessions for free before the day ends. But what if your power was out today too, Reader, and right now all you can think about is catching up on laundry that you couldn't run and making dinner for your kids that you couldn't make earlier? You don't have time to cram in the expert sessions. That's where the All-Access Pass and Bundle comes in. This allows you watch the replays at your own pace. It also grants you access to a lineup of premium resources from the speakers that you don't get with the free pass. See you inside the summit, Sharon P.S. Art Day is tomorrow. Live Demo Day is Friday. Then the summit is over for 2025, and the only way to watch the sessions will be with a replay! Grab your All-Access Pass and Bundle here.
